Paris Polo Club history

The first polo matches in Paris were played in 1891, first in the Jardin d’acclimatation, then on the lawn between the lake of Bois de Boulogne and the avenue des Acacias.

The first facilities dedicated to polo settled in Bagatelle. At the edge of the Seine and close to the center of Paris, the enchanting and bucolic setting of Bagatelle won the heart of the first Paris polo lovers.

The first polo field in Paris was built in 1982. Surrounded by elegant Norman buildings in the style of Deauville, from a model created by the Count of Urribaren.

Since the end of the 19th century, the elite plays the sport of kings in Bagatelle.

On the 9 hectares of the polo club of Paris you can also play golf on a magnificent drive that has a ball pre-cleaner. Of course with the appropriate outfit, a polo shirt and trousers.

The Polo de Paris offers an exceptional boot grooming service : players after their game may leave their equipment, polo shirt and boots for a cleaning before their next game.

The members of the Polo Club of Paris have reciprocal agreements with many international private clubs. A polo player from Paris will be able to play a few chukkas in Santiago, Chile, or be welcomed in New York at the River Club.
