The Tianjin Goldin Metropolitan Polo Club is China’s largest polo Club. It’s exceptional facilities are described by the Federation of international Polo as second to none in the world. Within easy reach of Beijing and Shanghai, Tianjin Polo Club is set amidst 222-acres of rolling lawns and manicured gardens. The polo club has a team of renowned international trainers and ponies from the finest bloodlines. The club is also building an indoor stadium with a retractable roof for 5,000 people, including special boxes for VIPs.
The Tianjin Goldin Metropolitan Polo Club’s Hotel neo-classical architecture in the backdrop evokes Europe and is perfectly in line with what one would expect of a sublime polo destination.
When the Polo Club opened 9 years ago with its 890,000 square meters, its aim was to promote a new lifestyle and create a polo community as well as introducing a new type of luxury to the region.
With its three polo fields, 300 stables and the 12 restaurants of its sumptuous hotel, The Tianjin Goldin Metropolitan Polo Club, owned by Goldin Properties Holdings, prides itself on being a retreat for China’s new nobility.

Snow Polo World Cup
The largest polo club in China hosts each year the Snow Polo World Cup. For this polo extravaganza, international polo teams, officials and polo fans from all around the world gather to enjoy top-class polo, gorgeous cuisine, and unbeatable entertainment in Tianjin.
Although Snow polo originated in Switzerland on the frozen lake of St. Moritz, it is nowadays played across the globe from Aspen and Cortina to Tianjin China. Tianjin is actually the birthplace of snow polo in China and Tianjin Snow Polo World Cup is the most prestigious snow polo tournament in Asia.
In this tournament, 6 teams from each of the International Federation’s Zones compete including Hong Kong polo team, featuring some of the world’s best snow polo athletes.
The club sponsors other major tournaments throughout the year and draws teams from global polo centers.
Hong Kong Beginners Cup.
The Beginners Cup was launched in October 2018 with a small group of complete polo beginners. Some of them had never been on a horse before. The objectif of Andrew Leung, founder of the HK Polo Beginners Cup was to turn them into competent riders and polo players within nine months.
As there is no polo club in Hong Kong, the tournament is hosted by the prestigious Tianjin Polo Club. The Nigerian Ahmed Tukur, who has been an avid player since childhood, has since been installed as one of the team captains for the 2019 edition of the Beginners Cup at the Tianjin Goldin Metropolitan Polo Club, where he will act as a guide for a team of largely novice players.
